Environment
At RAK Petroleum we are committed to the protection of the environment in which we live and work. To exemplify that commitment we will:
- Develop and maintain management systems to identify, control and monitor environmental risks and ensure compliance of staff and contractors with government regulations and industry guidelines;
- Enable our staff and contractors, through provision of information, instruction, training and supervision, to implement environmentally responsible work practices and to be aware of their stewardship responsibilities;
- Prevent or minimise the adverse effects of our operations on the environment by avoiding harmful discharge and emissions;
- Develop emergency response plans and procedures so that incidents can be responded to in a timely and effective manner;
- Ensure that adequate waste management practices are carried out based on the prevention, minimisation, recycling, treatment and disposal of wastes; and
- Monitor environmental effects and assess environmental performances at all stages of exploration, development, production and rehabilitation and work towards continuous improvement of our environmental performance.
